We find killer zombie knives being sold on eBay and Amazon for as little as 10 despite government
KILLER zombie knives are being sold on eBay and Amazon despite being banned in Britain, The Sun Online can reveal.
The terrifying blades - which have been used in two horrific crimes in the past week alone - boast serrated edges and often feature "zombie" art designs which seek to glorify violence.
While they are regularly marketed as collector items, cops have slammed the sale of them due to the horrific injuries they can inflict.
But despite the government confirming a ban on the blades under the Criminal Justice Act in August last year, The Sun Online has found several blades for sale on eBay and Amazon.
One blade was being sold for as little as £9 on eBay, while two others were being sold for just over £10.
Another knife on Amazon boasted of its "zombie" artwork on the blade, and was being sold for £55.
One 5-star review of the knife on Amazon read: "Awesome knife, good price! Easy to carry and it looks rad!"
When we flagged the sale of the items to eBay and Amazon, they were immediately removed from sale.
A spokeswoman for eBay said: "All illegal weapons are banned from eBay UK. Customer safety is our number one priority, and the eBay Trust and Safety Team scour the site each day to take action on any items of concern."
An Amazon spokeswoman said: "All Marketplace sellers must follow our selling guidelines and those who don’t will be subject to action including potential removal of their account.
"The product in question is no longer available."
"Zombie" knives are inspired by blades frequently seen in horror films, particularly "zombie apocalypse" movies.
Coming in bright colours and emblazoned with words like "zombie killer" and "slayer" the large knives are designed to look far more intimidating than a normal knife.
Several are even sold as "machetes" or "swords" rather than knives.
ZOMBIE KNIFE BAN: How the government cracked down on chilling blades
In August last year an amendment to the Criminal Justice Act 1988 banned the sale, manufacture, rental or importation of knives often referred to as "zombie knives", "zombie killer knives" and "zombie slayer knives".
The knives are defined as having cutting blades of up to 25 inches, having a serrated edge and including images or words that glamorise violence.
Minister for Vulnerability, Safeguarding and Countering Extremism, Sarah Newton, said at the time: "This government will act wherever necessary to cut crime and keep our communities safe.
"Zombie killer knives glamorise violence and cause devastating damage - they have no place whatsoever in our society.
"We committed to banning the sale, manufacture and importation of these dangerous weapons. With the ban now becoming law, we are delivering on our commitment.
"Anyone caught making or selling zombie knives now faces up to 4 years in prison."
On the government's list of banned knives and weapons, it describes zombie knives as "a knife with a cutting edge, a serrated edge and images or words suggesting it is used for violence".
The knives have been banned in England and Wales, and Northern Ireland are seeking to implement similar legislation.
The knives have been used in two high-profile crimes this week.
On June 1 footage emerged of a cyclist using a zombie knife to try and smash the window of a car in an apparent road rage row.
And yesterday a moped gang wielding a zombie knife and hammer raided a luxury watch shop on London’s Regent Street.

He added: “There is no place for knife crime within society and this ban is further commitment to keeping communities safe.”
At least 37 people have been fatally stabbed - and 62 overall killed - in London since the beginning of the year.
